This manual explains how to configure and use Display Labels and Hint Text for input fields, as well as how to create custom label layouts.

1. Display Label (Required)

Each input field must have a Display Label.

 Key rules :

  • The Display Label cannot be empty.
  • It must be unique across all input fields in the form.
  • It supports multiple lines of text.
  • The first non-blank line is used as the submission key when storing form data.

 Visibility behavior :

  • By default, the Display Label is shown above the input field.
  • You may choose to hide it from customers if a visual label is not needed.

2. Hint Text (Optional)

Hint Text provides additional guidance for users filling out the field.

Key rules :

  • Hint Text is optional.
  • It is always displayed inside the input field.
  • It disappears when the user starts typing.

Purpose :

  • Helps explain expected input format.
  • Provides examples or short instructions.

3. Creating a Visible Label Next to Input Fields

If you want a label displayed beside an input field (instead of above it), you can use a Two (multiple) Column Row layout.

How to set it up :

  1. Add a Two Column Row container.
  2. In the left column, add a Label widget.
  3. In the right column, add the Input widget.
  4. Configure the Input widget
    • Set a Display Label (required).
    • Hide the Display Label so it does not appear above the input field.

Result :

  • The label appears on the left side.
  • The input field appears on the right side.
  • The form maintains a clean, structured layout.
