Simply Forms provides flexible storefront form visibility and layout settings that help merchants control who can access forms and how forms are presented on the storefront. With built-in customer visibility controls, customer tag rules, and customizable layout options, you can create a more personalized and user-friendly form experience for your Shopify store.

These settings are especially useful for:
  • Wholesale or B2B stores
  • Member-only forms
  • Customer support or return request forms
  • Personalized customer experiences
  • Stores that want to display submission history directly on the storefront
This guide explains how to configure storefront form visibility and layout settings within the Simply Forms app block.

1. Form Visibility Settings

The app block provides several visibility settings to control who can view the form on your storefront.

1.1  Customer Visibility

Use the Customer visibility setting to control who can view the form on your storefront.  Available options:
  • Visible to everyone
  • Only visible to logged-in customers
  • Only visible to logged-out visitors
In the Shopify Theme Editor, the form is always visible for preview purposes, regardless of the selected visibility setting.

 1.2 Customer Tag Visibility

You can further control form visibility based on Shopify customer tags.

Visible Customer Tag

Customers with the specified tag can view the form.
If a tag is entered here, customers who do not have the tag will not see the form.
Example:
  • Tag: wholesale
  • Only customers tagged with wholesale can view the form.

Hidden Customer Tag
Customers with the specified tag will not be able to view the form.
Example:
  • Tag: blocked
  • Customers tagged with blocked cannot view the form.
If both visible and hidden customer tags are configured, the hidden tag rule takes priority.

 2. Display Previous Submissions Alongside the Form

To improve customer experience, you can display a guest’s previous submissions directly alongside the form. This allows customers to review their earlier messages without leaving the page.
The submissions panel can be positioned around the form in any of the following locations:
  • Top
  • Right
  • Bottom
  • Left
You can configure this in the Shopify Theme Editor under the Simply Forms app block settings by adjusting the Previous submissions position option. By default, this feature is hidden until enabled.

The layout is fully responsive and automatically adapts to mobile devices.
You can also customize:
  • Submission list title
  • Submission item text
  • Related messages
  • Button label
This helps you match the form experience with your store’s branding and preferred language.
